We are only 8 miles from the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and 35 miles from Monterey Bay Aquarium. While at the Rio Sands start your day with our expanded Continental Breakfast. Play in the swimming pool, heated to 80 degrees all year or relax in the pool side Family Spa or the adults only Garden Spa. Have a BBQ in our park like setting - perfect for a gathering of family and friends. Nearby you can go beach combing, fish, hike, bike, kayak, golf, shop, visit museums or wineries, just to name a few. Sorry, but pets are not allowed. Internet was available, refrigerator in room and proximity to beach, pool and spa.

No fan in bathroom, old sliding door, small pool towels and limited breakfast selection.

The room was comfortable, the pool/spa area was very nice and the hotel staff was very attentive and the proximity to the beach was great.

The walls were thin.

The staff was great, helpful and friendly. The grounds were very clean and organized. The walls were thin and we could here a lot of noise from the next room.

No ocean view.

Comfortable, clean, very nice staff, and a good continental breakfast, a good choice for our family of four to get near the beach with no advance planning.

The desk staff was very nice.

The outside of the hotel was unattractive but the inside was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were attractive and well-stocked but the beds were terribly uncomfortable. Fabulous staff, beautifully kept grounds & the separate TV room & kitchen a nice feature.

TV set high and gave me a kink in my neck.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a casual stay with nice accommodations. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful.
